Camp Floyd Rogers is a camp for children with Type 1 Diabetes located just outside of Gretna, Nebraska. Camp Floyd Rogers has been in operation for over 75 years and has received children from almost every city in Nebraska and many in Iowa. Camp Floyd Rogers has served as the home away from home, every summer for one week, for children ranging from eight to seventeen years old.
The Floyd Rogers Diabetic Foundation was established to ensure the future of Camp Floyd Rogers through fundraising efforts. Currently, the Floyd Rogers Diabetic Foundation is responsible for paying 50% of the actual cost of camp for EVERY camper who attends Camp Floyd Rogers. Additionally, the Floyd Rogers Diabetic Foundation also pays part to all of the camper fees for 40-50% of any camper fee who requires assistance.
Every year, Camp Floyd Rogers accepts over 100 campers. Every camper has a story. Every camper has someone wondering why they have to struggle with a chronic disease. Every camper has someone worried about the cost of diabetic treatment. Every camper has wondered why they are different. There is one week every year where the worry is gone. There is one week every year where the care giver does not wake up in the middle of the night to check blood sugar. There is one week that shapes a lifetime.
The Foundation's role in fundraising would not be possible without you. The foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization run by a board of individuals committed to supporting camp. Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law and you will receive an email receipt for your donation for tax purposes. Your donation no matter how small will go to the campers and allow these letters to make it home for generations to come:
